ARTIST SERIES PRESENTS
MEN ARE FROM MARS - WOMEN ARE FROM VENUS LIVE!

PLAYS THE TIMES-UNION CENTER’S TERRY THEATER
SATURDAY, JUNE 8th at 8:00PM

“You’ll leave the theatre with the intent to live in harmony with your partner.
Not to be missed!”– Elle Magazine

JACKSONVILLE, FL – Men Are From Mars – Women Are From Venus LIVE!, the one-man fusion of theatre and stand-up starring Peter Story and based on the New York Times #1 best-selling book of the last decade by John Gray, will play Jacksonville’s Times-Union Center’s Terry Theater on Saturday, June 8th at 8PM for a one-night-only sneak preview show! Moving swiftly through a series of vignettes, the show covers everything from dating and marriage to the bedroom.

Men Are From Mars – Women Are From Venus LIVE! is more than just the book. After beginning in Paris in 2007, Men Are From Mars – Women Are From Venus LIVE! has been seen by more than one million people around Europe. It debuted in the United States in February 2013 in Raleigh, North Carolina and will be playing to audiences around the United States and Canada throughout the year.

This hysterical show will have couples elbowing each other all evening as they see themselves on stage. Sexy and fast-paced, this show is definitely for adults but will leave audiences laughing and giggling like little kids!

Tickets for Men Are From Mars – Women Are From Venus LIVE! are $45.00 and are available at the Artist Series Box Office between 10AM-5PM, Monday-Friday, at (904) 442-BWAY (2929) and online 24/7 at www.artistseriesjax.org.

Here’s a video sneak peek of the show: http://bit.ly/MarsVenusJax

Starring in this theatrical comedy is PETER STORY. Peter has appeared in primetime shows on all three major networks--some of his favorite credits include CSI (directed by Quentin Tarantino), Without a Trace, Ugly Betty and recurring roles on Jay Leno’s The Tonight Show and Rob Lowe’s The Lyon’s Den.  He stars opposite Steve Guttenberg in the cheesy horror film, Cornered, and can be seen opposite Weed’s Elizabeth Perkins in the hilarious short, Le Chat Est Mort.

He is a proud alum of the New Harmony Project and an avid storyteller with The Moth.  Peter's story of how he and his wife won a dream wedding competition was just featured nationally on NPR’s The Moth Radio Hour, a show featuring the country's best storytellers.  Commenting on the show, Peter said, “It's a great recipe for a night out: a little storytelling blended with some comedy and a dash of sage wisdom from the book. A delicious evening of entertainment.”

When Mars and Venus collide, the adventures are earth-shatteringly hysterical.

Since being published in 1992, John Gray’s “Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus,” exploring the differences between the sexes, has sold in excess of 50 million copies, been translated into 40 different languages and is one of the most recognizable titles in the world. Gray has written 17 books and become one of the most trusted relationship authors today, appearing on the national lecture circuit and on such TV shows as Good Morning America, Oprah, and Larry King Live.

ARTIST SERIES PRESENTS
RHYTHM OF THE DANCE
TIMES-UNION CENTER’S MORAN THEATER
TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 19th at 7:30PM

JACKSONVILLE, FL – Rhythm of the Dance comes to Jacksonville’s Times-Union Center’s Moran Theater for one performance only on Tuesday, February 19th at 7:30PM!  A National Dance Company of Ireland presentation, this two-hour dance and music extravaganza contains a wealth of talent derived from all areas of Irish life, including three tenors and a seanos dancer.  The show is an inspiring epic, reliving the journey of the Irish Celts through history!

Using the traditional and modern arts of dance (ballet, modern dance, jazz) and music, this richly costumed show marries the contemporary and the ancient.  Combining traditional Irish dance and music with the most up-to-date stage technology, Rhythm of the Dance is a thousand-year-old story executed with all the advantages of the modern day stage show.

Here’s a video sneak peek of the show: http://bit.ly/RhythmDanceVideo.

From the creation of Rhythm of the Dance in 1998 – (initially the show was set up for a three-week tour of the United States) – it has toured consistently internationally and is achieving greater critical acclaim year after year.  This wonderful show continues to evolve thanks to the constant striving for perfection by its Director/Producer, choreographer and composer to keep the show fresh and interesting so that audiences who attend performances regularly will always find some new and exciting elements within the program.

With a wonderful, gifted young cast of dancers, musicians and three Irish tenors, featuring live performances from the entire troupe, Rhythm of the Dance has won critical acclaim across 4 continents of the world in 51 countries to over 5 million fans.  Now, after 12 years of showcasing the very best in Irish dance to the world, the show was undergone a process of renewal, re-invigorating the choreography and music to create an even more spectacular performance.  Producer Kieran Cavanagh is very excited about the updated format of the show, and he hopes that Rhythm of the Dance will be a breath of fresh air into Irish dance with this traditionally rooted and authentic production.

Rhythm of the Dance has heralded a new era in Irish entertainment, internationally rated as one of the most popular and busiest Irish step dance shows in the world.  Rhythm of the Dance aspires to a purity of content, maintaining the traditions of Irish step dancing and yet presenting it in the most modern format that has made it a leader in its field.  The show features a live band, three tenors and some 20 dancers.
